How wonderful. I will never have one of these kinds of devices in my home, as who knows what they already listen in on, or if the NSA or the like can/do hack into them.
If Google & others don’t wise up, they may become irrelevant. People have choices, as competition exists. As an example, I will add this news sight to my collection of many. I already use Startpage to filter & make my Google searches more private & will change my search engine if/as needed.
The main concern would be government imposed censorship, though that also has workarounds.
Just as wonderful as Amazon providing secure cloud services for the CIA.
I haven’t researched the stats being used here, but it obviously makes sense that the gatekeeper will have the most clout.
Not sure what AT&T’s final game plan is, but I’d guess they would like a Federal law preventing/overturning any state laws protecting their citizen’s privacy/rights.
Given this, one would think The Onion would be refused any traffic from Facebook or Google.
